The YCP leaders leave no opportunity to brag about themselves and their leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. However, the second wave of Covid-19 has proved to be a challenge to every elected representative, giving no chance to take pride in achieving anything.

In the wake of the surge in the Covid cases and deaths, the YCP leaders themselves are of the opinion that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has become helpless. They feel that Jagan is unable to tackle the second wave of Covid-19, according to a viral video.

The video that has gone viral on various social media platforms and even telecast by news channel ABN shows YCP MP Bharat Ram, Rajya Sabha MP Pilli Subash Chandra Bose, Rural coordinator Chandana Nageshwar, YCP former coordinator Routhu Suryaprakasa Rao meeting at YCP coordinator Akula Satyanarayana’s house in Rajahmundry on May 3 and discussing Corona crisis in the state.

(1/4) pic.twitter.com/g0eqh8fLaw

During the meeting, the YCP leaders lamented that families of Covid victims were being fleeced. Taking advantage of the crisis, people are being charged Rs 30,000 to shift the bodies and Rs 12,000 to perform the funeral rites. Some poor families are even seeking donations, unable to raise the amount, the leaders said.

They felt that the government, which should provide succour to the bereaved families, was not doing the needful for the poor.

Jagan is known for his concern for the poor and launching various schemes and programmes aimed at their welfare but since the outbreak of Covid-19 second wave, the CM seems to have gone into a complacent mood, political analysts observed.

Responding to the YCP leaders’ meet video, TDP national general secretary and ex-CM’s son Nara Lokesh mocked at Jagan’s inefficient rule on the micro-blogging platform Twitter. By saying “Jagan em chesadu…. Bokka”, YCP senior MP Pilli Subash Chandra Bose belled the cat, Lokesh tweeted.

The CM had done nothing to check the spread of Corona, Lokesh said and added that the CM had left the people to die their own death.

Pilli’s remarks remind one of TDP senior leader’s recent comments “party ledu… bokka ledu”, ahead of the Tirupati byelections. In that video, it was shown that Atchannaidu spoke light of his own party and in the YCP video, they spoke light of the Jagan’s government.

Atchannaidu had alleged that the video where he was shown in a poor light was morphed.

Lokesh also tweeted that none of the YCP leaders had the guts to make anti-Jagan comments in the public as they fear that he would take revenge on them.

In his tweet, he also made a mention of Akula Satyanarayana’s remarks that the government was not maintaining the logistics.
